CASE HISTORIES

FR99

Bearings

A barge repair facility in Ohio treated bearings that are intermittently submerged in river water and carry the weight of barges that weigh thousands of tons. Bearings previously lasted only a few months, but now have been running for several years.

Gears

A power transmission cable manufacturer had an issue with 4 foot diameter gears that were cut wrong and caused chatter vibration bad enough to shut down a production line. Lubricants were unable to help. Applying FR99 immediately stopped the vibration and allowed full operation until new gears could be provided by the gear manufacturer.

Hydraulic

A hydraulic pump with a continuing overheating problem in a Georgia sawmill experienced more than 30 F drop in temperature and no further need of maintenance after one application in 2018. The pump still operates flawlessly.

Hydraulic

A hydraulic pump operating in Texas saw a sustained reduction in operating temperature of more than 48 degrees F after treatment with FR99.

Air Conditioner

A Carrier air conditioner had the compressor fail. Instead of replacing the compressor, the compressor was removed, a small amount of FR99 was introduced to the compressor in a unique way and restarted. After running a short time, the compressor was reinstalled, recharged with refrigerant and now runs more efficiently that when it was new. It has been in service and working flawlessly for 3 years.

Engine

A Dodge Promaster van engine treated with FR99 had a failed oil light, and later developed an oil leak. The van was driven more than 2,000 miles with absolutely no oil in the engine before the situation was discovered. The oil leak was fixed, and no other problem with the engine occurred. The van has been driven more than 190,000 miles since that time and remains in service today without any more than routine maintenance. The van still gets 18% higher fuel mileage than before it was first treated with FR99.

Engine

A V8 engine in a GMC SUV reached over 600,000 miles without engine work or significant loss of performance. It’s still running just fine.

Engine

A stock car racer would prefer we not publish the fact that they get an increase of 10 horsepower in their racing engines when treated with FR99. Sorry bud. We have to let your competitive secret out.

Engine

Countless gasoline and diesel engines treated with FR99 have seen increases in fuel mileage between 14% and 20%. Average fuel mileage increase is 17%. You can literally feel an increase in horsepower in vehicles that have motors treated with FR99, and you can visibly see the loss of vibration or any engine shake while running.

PL-19

We have found absolutely nothing metal that PL-19 cannot free up. Period. There are countless applications where seized-up tools, hinges, bolts, and other equipment were soaked for weeks in products like WD-40, PB Blaster, Zep-45, Liquid Wrench and our old favorite Kroil by Kano. While those other products are good, there are things they just don’t touch, and just a couple drops of PL-19 does the trick. Best of all, you normally only have to do it once. All those other products work for a while. Then things just seize up again. PL-19 is more like a penetrating anti-seize that doesn’t stain your clothes.

Padlocks that hang out in the weather. Three drops per lock. One on each side of the loop and one drop in the keyhole. After 4-1/2 years, all the locks still work like brand new.

Aluminum hinges with steal pins. One treatment. Wait a few minutes. Wiggle it a little. Done. Numerous truck and trailer repair shops use PL-19. (Like those commercials for Frank’s Red Hot BBQ Sauce, “We put this %&#@ on everything.”)

Frozen exhaust bolts. Two drops. Rattle them a little with an impact wrench and wait just a bit. Then try that impact again. Off they come!

Ditto frozen manifold bolts.

Door locks on front end loaders in a fertilizer plant had not worked in years. Efforts to repair or replace them always ended up with them corroded and frozen up again. One treatment of PL-19 had them working in minutes, 4 years ago, and they still work like new today.

In an antique auto restoration business, hinges on a folding hood just could not be freed up with other penetrating lubricants. Just a few drops of PL-19 had it working like new in 5 minutes.

It is important to understand PL-19 is different. You use it similar to normal penetrating oil, but it does not work the same way. Friction activates it. Normally, just putting it where you need it is enough, but for really tough applications, give it some time to dissolve oxide and then add some vibration or friction. It has some personality you will come to know. Once you get to know how it behaves, you won’t do without it.

We really don’t know how long PL-19 will work on corroded up equipment and tools. Every indication is that it’s a really long time!

Lumber

A large lumber mill in Georgia experienced bearing failure on a board edger, which threatened an unscheduled shutdown.  There was nearly 1/16” of motion in the bearing.  To maximize production, it was decided to run the equipment until it locked up, knowing that a shutdown was inevitable.  Once CSG-17 grease was applied to the failed bearing, it found a center, stopped rumbling and ran smoothly for 3 days allowing them to reach a normal scheduled shut down.  In addition, there was literally no additional wear to the failed bearing parts.

Trucking

Hoping to complete one more load, a truck driver in Illinois applied CSG-17 grease to a failing u-joint on his Peterbilt truck.  Four years later with daily use of the truck, the u-joint still has not failed and is working fine.

Automotive

Front axle bearings on ambulances were failing within roughly 40,000 miles. Extra weight, turning quickly and maneuvering through traffic impacts bearing life tremendously. Applying CSG-17 now yields more than 150,000 mile life to the axle bearings on those ambulances.

Excavating

A company operating a large Cat front end loader daily in Georgia previously lubricated their machine every day. Using CSG-17, they only need to lubricate once a week for no-squeak operation and no pin wear. Even with the higher price of CSG-17, they spend less on grease because they use less, and they have had no friction related repairs since 2018.

Rock Quarry

At a South Carolina rock crushing facility, a sizing screen with a failing bearing threatened to shut down crucial processes 2 days before the weekend when the bearing could be replaced without interrupting production. They tried LG-18 grease to see if it could just keep the equipment running. The bearing immediately began to perform like new and ran perfectly for 2 days until the equipment could be repaired without loss of production.

Manufacturing

Countless manufacturing facilities are testing CSG-17 and LG-18 to examine and further the life of bearings. We are still waiting to hear from anyone with a bearing failure since 2018. That doesn’t necessarily mean there have not been any, but no one seems to recall having any failures since they started using our grease, and they keep buying it.

BABO

It’s always the same old boring story. People use Bad Ass Bar Oil in place of any other bar oil. They cut all day and the chain stays sharp. Their bar never wears out. The chain does not get hot enough to hurt if they touch it with their fingers.

A tree cutting service makes their own bar oil. They add just a little FR99 to waste oil from vehicles and it performs exactly the same as using Bad Ass Bar Oil. However, doing that is not any more environmentally friendly than using a regular brand of petroleum based bar oil. They just make productive use of oil they would otherwise have to dispose of.
